BEST CROP YET! - ALAN JONES FROM BIRSAY, ORKNEY - 03-09-2011![]() MR. Jones purchased a 10m walk-in wonderwall in May this year. He sent an email entitled "BEST CROP YET" and enclosed a photo (shown above) of his produce inside. Good day Walk In Wonderwall. As promised please see attached photograph showing our best crop ever of summer / winter Cabbages and Brussel Sprouts, thanks to the added protection from gales, cold and pests. Many thanks and strongly recommended to all gardeners. Best regards Alan. |
ALEX WHITE - HEDNESFORD, STAFFORDSHIRE ( 04-07-2011 )These photos are of Alex Whites 6m Walk-in wonderwall. Alex, who had major heart surgery in January, purchased his wonderwall back in April. With Alex living near to our business we visited him to see how he was getting on, only to find he had not erected his Wonderwall due to his convalescence. He was champing at the bit to get his Wonderwall up. So, we decided to install it for him and as you can see he is very happy with it. We wish him a speedy recovery and every success with his growing season.

Isle of Lewis.![]() 15-06-2011 Above is a photograph sent in by Mr. and Mrs. Batty from the Isle of Lewis of their Wonderwall. As can be seen they have installed a six foot wind break around their Wonderwall to give it added protection against hurricane-force winds and also the installation of guy ropes has added to its stabillity. Mr. and Mrs. Batty went on to say that they are quite pleased with their Wonderwall " and you can see that our brassica are quite pleased too!" |
NEWS FROM THE SHETLAND ISLESMrs. Jennie Atkinson ( Gott - Shetlands ) email received 02-06-2011 We have had a very windy day today with the wind 45 knots (56 mph) just before breakfast and a good steady 35 knots (43 mph) through the day. The tunnel was taking a bit of a battering. Shetland wind tends to be very gusty (a very experienced sailing friend referred to the wind in Shetland last week as "violent") so I'm not sure what the gusts were, but the tunnel held up, although I had to clip back a couple of the end clips. I do have a good couple of guy ropes out though.
This picture was taken yesterday after I put up the netting and the sun was still shining! And as you can see it does get a bit of shelter from the polytunel. I have put the tunnel up myself (frame and netting - although over two separate days) and am very impressed that I have been able to do so, given that I am only 5 foot tall and not in the first "flush of youth!" So far I am very impressed! I did manage to get a bit of planting done yesterday, so hopefully the weather will improve over the next couple of days and I'll get the rest done. I will let you know how I get on. As indicated - there is quite a bit of interest in it here in Shetland! Many thanks again. Best wishes Jennie PS Happy for you to use any of this on the website! LATEST EMAIL FROM JENNIE RECEIVED OCT 2nd 2011. Hello from Shetland I just wanted to say what a great growing season i have had this year. Unfortunately i havent taken any photographs, but i had a great harvest in terms of cabbages, broccoli, leeks, peas spinach, strawberries and gooseberries - far higher than usual. Jennie. Mr. John O'Rourke from Petersfield has sent us a fabulous photo of his walk-in wonderwall.
His letter says - Dear Walk-in Wonderwall, I have at last had time to erect my Wonderwall and I must say i am very pleased with the end result. For sometime now I have been looking for a structure to have over my old swimming pool, which I have turned into a sunken garden. I had almost given up hope when your advert appeared in the amature garden magazine. It was just what i was looking for. Many thanks again. I hope business is going good for you both. Kind regards John O'Rourke. If you have any comments you would like to share with us and your fellow wonderwallers or, pictures of you and your Wonderwall, which would be great for our gallery.
